Hello! I’m Sophie Capewell, a 25 year old Track Sprint cyclist on the Great Britain Cycling Team, originally from Lichfield and now living in Manchester. I’ve been involved in sports my whole life, but cycling was always at the forefront of my sporting endeavours, especially when it came to anything fast and short.

I was brought onto the junior development squad at the age of 13 and came up through the ranks from then. I have had many successes on the international stage medalling at European and World Championships, with one of my favourite moments competing and medaling at a home Commonwealth Games, something I had discussed at length with with my late father who was an integral part of my love and joy for cycling, and unfortunately had passed the year previous. Despite having some turbulent years, I am now hopefully heading towards my first Olympic Games this summer in Paris.
